🌹 AS THE FLOWER BLOOMS Episode 4: The Secret Rose Has Been Keeping

Previously on As The Flower Blooms…

Peony was finally beginning to bloom.

Daisy was still asking questions nobody wanted answered.

The Hydrangeas had become convinced they were professional detectives.

And Rose…

Rose was hiding someone.

A mysterious visitor had appeared at the door of the Petal Perfection floral design studio.

Rose clearly knew the visitor.

And when Peony asked what was happening, Rose finally admitted:

"Sometimes a flower needs somewhere safe to bloom."

But who was the mysterious flower?

And why was Rose so determined to protect them?

The answers were about to begin…

🌹 Episode 4: The Secret Rose Has Been Keeping

The floral design studio was unusually quiet.

Too quiet.

Buckets of fresh flowers lined the worktables.

The sweet fragrance of roses filled the air.

Hydrangeas sat together whispering.

Daisies watched from across the studio.

Peony stood quietly near Rose.

And the mysterious visitor remained in the shadows near the doorway.

Nobody spoke.

Nobody moved.

Except Daisy.

🌼 Daisy:

"So… are we going to talk about this?"

Everyone looked at her.

🌼 Daisy:

"What?"

💠 Hydrangeas:

"You're the one who always talks."

🌼 Daisy:

"Exactly. Someone has to."

Rose sighed.

🌹 Rose:

"Daisy, this isn't your business."

Daisy gasped.

🌼 Daisy:

"Not my business?"

She looked at the Hydrangeas.

🌼 Daisy:

"Did you hear that?"

💠 Hydrangeas:

"We heard it."

🌼 Daisy:

"After everything we've been through together?"

🌹 Rose:

"We've known each other for three days."

🌼 Daisy:

"An emotional three days."

Peony couldn't help smiling.

But then the mysterious visitor slowly stepped forward.

Everyone stared.

The visitor moved into the light.

Peony's eyes widened.

Daisy's mouth dropped open.

Even the Hydrangeas stopped whispering.

The visitor was…

🌷 A Lily.

A beautiful white lily with delicate petals and a nervous expression.

She looked exhausted.

And frightened.

🌸 Peony:

"You're a lily."

🌷 Lily:

"Yes."

🌼 Daisy:

"That's your big secret?"

Rose quickly stepped between Daisy and Lily.

🌹 Rose:

"Her name is Lily."

🌼 Daisy:

"Well, hello, Lily."

🌷 Lily:

"Hello."

🌼 Daisy:

"Why were you hiding?"

Lily looked at Rose.

Rose nodded.

🌷 Lily:

"Because I needed help."

The room became quiet.

🌹 Rose Finally Tells the Truth

Rose took a deep breath.

🌹 Rose:

"Lily was part of an arrangement."

The flowers gasped.

💠 Hydrangeas:

"WHAT?"

🌼 Daisy:

"An arrangement?"

🌸 Peony:

"What happened?"

Lily lowered her head.

🌷 Lily:

"I was placed in an arrangement that wasn't right for me."

Peony looked confused.

🌸 Peony:

"What do you mean?"

Rose gently explained.

🌹 Rose:

"Sometimes flowers are placed together without considering what each flower needs."

The Hydrangeas nodded.

💠 Hydrangeas:

"Very true."

🌹 Rose:

"Different flowers have different care requirements. Some prefer cooler conditions. Some are more sensitive to heat. Some need special conditioning before being placed into a floral arrangement."

Lily nodded.

🌷 Lily:

"And I wasn't getting the care I needed."

Peony looked concerned.

🌸 Peony:

"So Rose brought you here?"

🌹 Rose:

"Yes."

🌷 Lily:

"She saved me."

Rose looked embarrassed.

🌹 Rose:

"I didn't save you."

🌷 Lily:

"You did."

🌹 Rose:

"I simply gave you somewhere safe to recover."

Peony smiled.

🌸 Peony:

"Sometimes that's exactly what a flower needs."

🌼 Daisy Has Another Question

Of course she did.

🌼 Daisy:

"Okay, that's actually very sweet."

Rose smiled.

🌼 Daisy:

"But I have another question."

Rose's smile disappeared.

🌹 Rose:

"Of course you do."

🌼 Daisy:

"Why were you acting so strange?"

Rose looked toward Lily.

🌹 Rose:

"Because I was afraid someone would find her."

💠 Hydrangeas:

"Who?"

Rose didn't answer.

🌼 Daisy:

"Who would want to find a lily?"

Lily looked frightened.

🌷 Lily:

"Someone who thinks I belong to them."

The studio fell silent.

Peony's petals seemed to tighten.

🌸 Peony:

"Who?"

Lily looked toward the door.

🌷 Lily:

"I don't know."

Suddenly…

BANG!

Everyone jumped.

Something had fallen outside the studio.

Daisy screamed.

🌼 Daisy:

"WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!"

💠 Hydrangeas:

"It's a flower bucket."

🌼 Daisy:

"Oh."

A pause.

🌼 Daisy:

"I knew that."

Rose looked toward the doorway.

Her expression changed.

🌹 Rose:

"No."

Peony noticed.

🌸 Peony:

"What?"

🌹 Rose:

"Someone is outside."

🌺 The Investigation Begins

The Hydrangeas immediately moved toward the door.

💠 Hydrangeas:

"Everyone stay back."

🌼 Daisy:

"Why?"

💠 Hydrangeas:

"Because we're detectives."

🌼 Daisy:

"Since when?"

💠 Hydrangeas:

"Since five minutes ago."

Peony carefully followed.

Rose stayed beside Lily.

The door slowly opened.

Nothing.

Only a delivery cart.

A few empty buckets.

And a single white ribbon lying on the floor.

Rose stared at it.

🌹 Rose:

"I know that ribbon."

🌸 Peony:

"How?"

Rose didn't answer.

She picked up the ribbon.

On the ribbon was a tiny handwritten note.

Peony leaned closer.

🌸 Peony:

"What does it say?"

Rose unfolded it.

Her face went pale.

🌹 Rose:

"It says…"

She stopped.

🌼 Daisy:

"ROSE!"

🌹 Rose:

"It says, 'I know where she is.'"

Everyone gasped.

Lily trembled.

🌷 Lily:

"They found me."

🌸 The Flower-Care Lesson

Peony moved closer to Lily.

🌸 Peony:

"Don't be afraid."

🌷 Lily:

"How can you say that?"

🌸 Peony:

"Because I know something now."

Lily looked at her.

🌸 Peony:

"Flowers can survive difficult conditions when they're given the right care."

Rose nodded.

🌹 Rose:

"Exactly."

🌸 Peony:

"Fresh water."

💠 Hydrangeas:

"Clean containers."

🌼 Daisy:

"Properly trimmed stems."

🌹 Rose:

"Flower food."

🌷 Lily:

"And patience."

Everyone smiled.

🌹 Rose:

"Exactly."

🌷 Why Proper Flower Conditioning Matters

Rose turned toward the others.

🌹 Rose:

"That's why professional florists spend so much time conditioning flowers before creating an arrangement."

🌼 Daisy:

"Conditioning?"

🌹 Rose:

"Yes. Fresh flowers need to be properly prepared before they become part of a floral arrangement."

💠 Hydrangeas:

"Clean buckets."

🌹 Rose:

"Fresh water."

🌸 Peony:

"Freshly cut stems."

🌼 Daisy:

"Remove unnecessary foliage."

🌹 Rose:

"And keep flowers in the proper environment."

Lily smiled.

🌷 Lily:

"Maybe that's why I feel better here."

Rose smiled.

🌹 Rose:

"Every flower deserves the chance to look its best."

🌹 But Rose Has One More Secret

Peony suddenly noticed something.

Rose was staring at the white ribbon.

Not with fear.

With recognition.

🌸 Peony:

"Rose?"

🌹 Rose:

"Yes?"

🌸 Peony:

"You know who sent this."

Rose looked at Peony.

She didn't answer.

🌸 Peony:

"Don't you?"

Rose slowly nodded.

🌹 Rose:

"Yes."

The Hydrangeas leaned closer.

Daisy stopped breathing.

Lily looked terrified.

🌼 Daisy:

"WHO?"

Rose looked toward the door.

🌹 Rose:

"Someone from my past."

The studio fell silent.

🌸 Peony:

"Who?"

Rose looked at Lily.

Then at the ribbon.

Then at the door.

🌹 Rose:

"Someone who knows exactly where I came from."

🌺 TO BE CONTINUED…

The flowers had finally discovered the truth about Lily.

But they had also uncovered an even bigger mystery.

Who was looking for her?

Why did Rose know them?

And what exactly was Rose running from?

The Hydrangeas were ready to investigate.

Daisy was ready to gossip.

Peony was ready to help.

Lily was terrified.

And Rose?

Rose knew the past had finally caught up with her.

But who is waiting outside the door?

What does Rose know that she isn't telling the others?

And why does the mysterious visitor know Lily?

Find out in Episode 5 of As The Flower Blooms.

🌷 A Little Flower Wisdom From Petal Perfection

Just as Lily discovered in today's episode, proper flower conditioning matters.

When you purchase fresh flowers from a professional florist, the flowers have usually been carefully selected, conditioned and prepared before becoming part of your floral arrangement.

At home, you can help extend the life of your fresh flower arrangement by following a few simple flower-care tips:

💧 Start With a Clean Vase

Bacteria can build up inside a dirty vase and shorten the life of fresh-cut flowers. Always wash your vase thoroughly before adding fresh water and flowers.

✂️ Recut Your Flower Stems

Trim the stems before placing your flowers in water. A fresh cut can help your flowers take up water more effectively.

🌿 Remove Foliage Below the Water Line

Leaves sitting underwater can break down and encourage bacterial growth. Remove foliage that would be submerged.

🌸 Use Flower Food

Professional flower food can provide nutrients while also helping create a better environment for many types of fresh-cut flowers.

☀️ Choose the Right Location

Keep fresh flowers away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, heating vents and appliances that produce heat.

💧 Change the Water

Fresh, clean water is one of the simplest ways to help your flowers last longer.
